Jaffer launches Revive Edmonton Tour on infill and other important issues
Edmonton, Alta. (July 16, 2025) – Mayoral candidate Rahim Jaffer announced today the launch of the Revive Edmonton Tour, a series of in-person and virtual town halls focused on pressing issues such as infill, housing, public safety and the breakdown in trust between City Hall and Edmonton’s neighbourhoods.
“The situation we’re witnessing with this city council is tragic. Councillors are ignoring citizens, and some aren’t even showing up for critical votes on the issues they claim to care about. That’s not leadership — that’s failure,” said Jaffer. “The Revive Edmonton Tour will listen to Edmontonians directly affected by infill, crime and other neighbourhood concerns so we can get them right — for all of Edmonton.”
The tour will begin this July and include both physical and digital forums. Its goal: to hear directly from those impacted by decisions at City Hall and to shape policy that reflects the will of Edmontonians — not special interests or developers.
“Right now, we’re seeing a complete breakdown of trust between City Hall and the people it’s supposed to serve,” said Jaffer. “I’m going to rebuild that trust by listening first — and then delivering policies that respect homeowners, neighbourhoods and communities. And unlike city council over the last 12 years, I will follow through once in office. I know Edmontonians are as sick and tired of empty promises as I am.”
Jaffer said he is the only candidate voters can trust to get the city back on track — because every other candidate is either a current or former member of city council.
“It’s time for a mayor who cares, a mayor who actually shows up, and a mayor who understands that Edmontonians are the boss,” said Jaffer. “We will build a city that works — and that work starts now.”
Dates and locations for the Revive Edmonton Tour will be posted on VoteJaffer.ca/revive-edmonton-tour and shared on social media @votejaffer.
